Hometown paper interview—I have made it to the big time!

Every day of my teenage years in the 70’s and early 80’s, I read the Akron Beacon Journal. It was my only news source (I don’t recall watching much TV news on our whopping THREE channels).

I have very fond memories of turning the pages and reading the articles while eating my breakfast cereal. Sundays were special because of the sheer size of the paper, and of course the comics. And Mondays were great because I’d get to read articles begrudgingly telling the feats of my mighty Pittsburgh Steelers from the day before. I used to love concert reviews from the Richfield Coliseum and Blossom…many times I had been at the show the night before myself. The ABJ was the newspaper that reported the world I was growing up in, and I loved it.

So you can imagine my excitement during our interview with Mark Price, writer from the Akron Beacon Journal, a few days ago. He’s writing an article about KazMainea.

Yes, you heard right; I was interviewed for an upcoming article…in my hometown paper.

And as Larry David would say, I feel pretty, pret-ty, pret-ty special about that.

The article should be out soon.

Can I be honest? I was pretty excited. Frankly, now I just hope I didn’t embarrass myself too much.

But wait! there’s more.
